Vakıf Katılım is the Leader in Gold and Silver Transaction Volume

Vakıf Katılım became the bank with the highest gold and silver transaction volıme in Borsa Istanbul’s Precious Metals and Precious Stones Market (KMTP) in year 2019.

Having brought together the sharing culture of foundations with public power and brought a breath of fresh air to participation banking world, Vakıf Katılım achieved the highest gold and silver transaction volume in Borsa Istanbul’s Precious Metals and Precious Stones Market (KMTP) and left its mark on 2019.

‘’Leader in gold transaction volume’’

Having started bar gold transactions in Borsa Istanbul’s Precious Metals and Precious Stones Market in 2017 with the objective “To Become Turkey’s National Gold Bank”, Vakıf Katılım has taken over the leadership within 2 years. We provided a serious contribution to our country’s economy by exporting gold at an amount of 425 million USD in 2018. Realizing a trade volume of 63.4 tons of gold bullion in 2019, Vakıf katılım achieved the title of the bank with the highest transaction volume in Precious Metals and Precious Stones Market (KMTP).

‘’We steered the market’’

Having realized 20.95% of the total transaction volume at Borsa Istanbul KMTP alone, Vakıf Katılım achieved to be the member firm with the highest number of transactions with 58,891 transactions. Vakıf Katılım, which realized 12,58% of gold buying and 29,32% of gold selling transactions, continuously provided liquidity to the market for both buying and selling transactions as a market maker.

“Leader in silver transaction volume as well”

The performance that we displayed thanks to the strategy followed by Vakıf Katılım made us leader not only in gold but also in silver transaction volume. Vakıf Katılım became the member firm with the highest transaction volume at Borsa Istanbul KMTP silver transactions in 2019 with a physical volume of 236.7 tons which correspond to 24,10% of the total volume.

‘’Reference Institution’’

In his statement, İkram Göktaş, the General Manager of Vakıf Katılım, stated that they put their signature under important successes in gold banking and took firm steps to become reference institution in this field. Mr. Göktaş further stated that; ‘’In our planning, we aimed to increase our national and international transaction volume to higher levels. As of today, we can see that we have achieved our targets. In year 2020, we will continue to support the studies and activities which will create added value for our country and national economy. In this context, as Vakıf Katılım, we have established the strategic goal of being “Turkey’s National Gold Bank”. We resolutely maintain our studies which will enable us to increase our transaction volume in domestic markets and international markets as well. We will continue our market maker role in the forthcoming period by realizing ground-breaking new projects. We will take firm steps toward our objective of being “Turkey’s National Gold Bank”.
