Vakıf Katılım Carries Bursa’s Waqf Heritage into the Future

Bursa marks the latest stop for Vakıf Katılım's Waqf Artifacts Inventory Project, an initiative launched to keep waqf heritage alive and pass it on to future generations. Across the city, the project team specially photographed 385 waqf artifacts in 34,952 shots, compiling them alongside their detailed histories in the book Bursa Waqf Artifacts.

Drawing inspiration from a centuries-old waqf culture, Vakıf Katılım protects the values of the past while delivering solutions tailored to modern needs. To sustain the legacy of the waqf tradition and carry it forward, Vakıf Katılım continues its inventory project with the Bursa Waqf Artifacts volume, following earlier editions dedicated to Hatay and Konya.

Under the project, an expert team documented 385 waqf artifacts across Bursa, an emblem of waqf culture, a former Ottoman capital, and a magnificent city steeped in ancient history, nature, and human spirit, capturing them in 34,952 photographs and authoring their histories. Bursa Waqf Artifacts plays a vital role in immortalizing the city’s elegance and historical fabric for generations to come.
