Prof. Dr. İshak Emin Aktepe was born in 1975 in Erzincan. He completed primary, secondary and high school education in Erzincan. He graduated from the faculty of theology, Marmara University (Istanbul) in 1997. Following this, he received his master’s degree with the thesis on “Al-Shafi’i’s view on some hadith issues” in 1999 and doctorate degree with thesis on “Sunnah before and during Al-Shafi’i period” in 2005 in Institute of Social Sciences at the Marmara University. He became associate professor in 2011. After he worked as a director and educator in several associations and foundations after 1997, he started to work at participation banking sector as of 2004. In 2012, he was appointed as a lecturer at the faculty of theology in Erzincan University.
Some of his published works are as follows: The Understanding of Sunnah of Early Islamic Lawyers (insan, 2008), Financing and Banking in the Framework of Islamic Law (Bilge, 2010), Interest and Financing in Hadith Sources (Hayat, 2012), Sunnah and Hadith (Beka, 2013).
Besides these, Prof. Dr. Aktepe has many articles, book translations, article translations and encyclopedia articles presented in national and international symposiums. Mr. Aktepe is married with three children.
