Durmuş Ali KUZU

Dr. Durmuş Ali Kuzu started his banking career as a credit analyst at Vakıfbank in 1996 and continued his career as an inspector at T. Emlak Bank. He held important public positions as a sworn bank auditor, coordinator, group head, department head and vice president in the sectoral regulation, supervision, enforcement and licensing units of the Undersecretariat of Treasury, BRSA (Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency) and KGK (Public Oversight, Accounting And Auditing Standards Institution). In 2016, he was elected as a board member of QNB Turkey and served as a member of the audit committee responsible for internal systems and the board of directors for 9 years. In May 2025, he was elected as a member of the Board of Directors of Vakıf Katılım Bank and appointed as the Chairman of the Bank's Audit Committee, to which the Audit, Internal Control, Risk, Compliance and Legislation Departments report.

Durmuş Ali Kuzu graduated from Ankara University, SBF, Department of Business Administration in 1996, completed his master's degree in Business Administration at the University of Illinois in the USA in 2008 and his PhD in Accounting-Finance at Başkent University in 2018. He served as a Member Country Representative at BASEL and FSB Banking Committees and was the country coordinator of FSAP. He has conducted studies on the regulation and supervision practices in the banking and finance sector of various countries, including the USA, the UK and the European Union, and participated in various seminars and conferences. In addition to his book studies, he has published articles and papers in various journals and conferences and lectured at universities.

Dr. Kuzu holds Independent Auditor and CPA licenses and holds certificates in authentic leadership, cyber security and information security management from Harvard Business School; data analytics & science from Mannheim Business School; and sustainability expertise from the Turkish Capital Markets Association. He is a founding member of TMA Turkey, founding chairman of the BDDMP Association and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sworn Bank Auditors Foundation.
